Prezado (No.2) & Intuition (No.7)

This is a good race to finish the day on over the 1100m. Prezado has had three birthday’s in a row here at his last three starts winning over the 1000m, surely he doesn’t get a fourth winning over the 1100m does he? I am pretty keen that his winning run ends here on Saturday particularly from that low draw which I think could be a big disadvantage.

I think there is a really good two bet play in the race starting with the airborne Order Of Command. This horse is just flying. He was a dominant winner first up at Caulfield and then he went to The Bool and showed great fight to win the Wangoom after looking beaten halfway down the straight. He then went to Adelaide and turned in an outstanding performance in the Goodwood behind Trekking when beaten less than three lengths. That is really good form for a race of this nature. The 62kgs initially looks daunting but with the raised weights he is only six kilos above the minimum and I don’t actually think he is that badly treated. He looks to draw the right part of the track down the straight and if he rocks up in similar form to what he has at his other three runs this campaign he is going to be very hard to hold out. Keen to be with him.

I Am Someone who won The Wangoom the year before ironically is the other horse I want to be with. He showed he might be back to somewhere near his best this time around with a good first up run behind Tavisan at Caulfield last start. That run came off no jump out that I could find or trial and the market suggested he would probably take a bit of improvement form that given his starting price, even though there was a small nibble for him. He has run some good races here down the straight and I remember a win in January last year here where he was completely dominant. He also looks to draw the right part of the track out wide and with natural improvement from that first up run, he does typically improve second up I think he can run a big race here and looks a very good bet around the $8-9 mark.

Betting strategy

I will have $55 the win on Order Of Command and $25 the win on I Am Someone locking in the $9 with TopSport about the latter!

Witherspoon (No.2) & Longbottom (No.7)

This race is over the 1000m for the sprinters. It looks a competitive race. Broken Arrows comes back a bit in grade here in terms of the benchmark and I think getting away from Rosehill and on to the big Randwick track is going to suit her perfectly. Put simply, she just hasn’t had much luck this time in chasing home Adelong at her past three starts. She has been running well but without all the favours. Last week in particular she had no luck at all. The jockey change has been made with McEvoy going on for Berry and I think with even luck on the bigger track from the middle draw in this grade she can be winning.

Zaniah is an interesting runner. She ran some nice races last campaign and looks to be a mare going through her grades nicely. Most importantly her recent trial at Newcastle looked really sharp. She draws nicely for an in form Avdulla and with a touch of luck from there coupled with handling the going I think she can be in the finish.

All Stand is the horse I think is well over the odds. He ran well first up and is typically a horse that improves off his first up run into his second up run. He goes really well on soft ground he meets Witherspoon significantly better at the weights for their last meeting and around the $20 mark I think he is worth a ticket.

Betting strategy

I will have $35 the win on Zaniah, $30 the win on Broken Arrows and $10 the win on All Stand here!

Milk Man (No.7)

Racing in Brisbane returns to Doomben this Saturday and the weather has been pretty wet up in south east Queensland. We have seen quite a few meetings called off during the week and while we won’t have any worries about this meeting going ahead we will be racing on a soft to heavy track. This is a tough program. There are a couple of short priced favourites early in the day that look likely to get the chocolates but outside of that I found it pretty hard to find many races to bet into. Hence, I am only betting in two races on the program.

The first of those is race four which is over the mile. Milk Man has come up a short priced favourite here. Too short for mine. He just hasn’t won for a while and even though he looks likely to get a gun run here I can’t get keen at the price. I think there are a couple of horses at bigger odds that will definitely improve into this race on Saturday.

Reckless Choice comes into this race third up and finally gets to the mile so he looks set to deliver a big performance. He just hasn’t been well served at the barrier draw. He draws out which means he will most likely have to go back in the field. I am just hoping there is enough pressure on up front that he can blend into the race and if he can do that I think he is a big winning chance and a good price here. He has run well here in his only two starts over this track and trip too so keen to be in his corner.

Prometheus did beat him home last start so I am pretty much obliged to have something on him also. Both his runs since making the move north have been good. Third up rising to his pet distance here from a good draw I anticipate him running well. I think he looks a good price as well around that $8-10 mark so will back him also.

Paint The Town Two’s best form is certainly good enough to win this. Her form back in the late summer and early autumn in Melbourne reads very well for a race of this nature. She did enough for mine here first up from a break behind Shalwa. Second up, rising in trip I thought she was over the odds around the $15 mark.

Aqua Vite is the horse at massive odds I am going to have something on. He seems to save his best form for here around Doomben and if you go on his run two starts back he can certainly figure here. He draws to get a gun run in behind the speed and around that $30 mark I think he is worth a ticket.

Betting strategy

I will have $25 the win on Reckless Choice, $20 the win on Prometheus and save with $10 the win on Paint The Town Two and Aqua Vite!
