The previews due to time constraints are going to be pretty brief this weekend punters! We kick off at The Valley Friday night in the third race where Tell Me comes down from Sydney for the Hawkes yard. Her form last campaign around the likes of All Too Royal and Military Zone etc. reads very well for this race tonight and think she had more upside than her rivals so happy to be with her.

Betting strategy

Keen on Tell Me and will have $80 the win on her!

Kemono (No.3) & Princeton Spirit (No.8)

Dangers

Malibu Style (No.1) & Thermal Current (No.4)

I had something small on Kemono as a saving bet behind She’s So High first up and I thought he got through the line nicely. He is racing like a horse that is looking for 1200m to my eye. He was a drifter in the market that day which suggests to me that there is probably more to come from him here second up. He is drawn a bit tricky but Mark Zahra is flying and if he can get him into the right spot he will be hard to hold out. Saving on Princeton Spirit who draws to get a good run up on speed.

Betting strategy

I will have $65 the win on Kemono here and save with $20 the win on Princeton Spirit!

Global Exchange (No.3) & Delcares War (No.4)

Dangers

Cossetot (No.2) & Declarationofheart (No.6)

This is the feature of the night the Alistair Clark Stakes. Global Exchange just won in the manner of a good horse last start at Caulfield. He seems to be progressing through the grades really nicely and if he rocks up in the same form here he is going to be hard to beat. He will be hoping there is no on pace bias as he will be back in the field from the wide draw but providing that the track is playing fair I think he is the best horse and will be hard to roll. Keeping Declares War on side as I am just not sure how close he would have got last start at Caulfield. He was travelling into the race like the winner but got knocked down at top of the straight. He has won here at The Valley and am going to keep him on side just in case.

I will have $65 the win on Global Exchange and save with $20 the win on Declares War!

She was a bit of a sitting shot late but the run for mine was really brave. I think with an easier run in transit here she can be saluting. I will keep Slick Back on side who is coming along nicely for Mick Kent. Not a lot of value there so will stake to win more with Kardashing and save on Slick Back.

I will have $60 the win on Kardashing and $40 the win on Slick Back!

All Star Mile Day arrives on Saturday at Flemington and we look to have a ripping day in store. I am kicking off in the first race down the straight. Clarice Cliffs was obviously good here two weeks ago behind Oregon’s Day but has come up pretty short for mine here at first run down the straight. Quilista for memory won this race last year and can see her being very competitive on her best form at double figure odds. Lady Of Flanders was very good early in her last campaign and we had a good collect on her at good odds. She still has a fair bit of upside in my opinion, I am not sure we have got to the bottom of her. Just Hifalutin back to Flemington where she runs best should also run well so happy to be in her corner. Going for a bit of value around the favourite.

This is another really competitive race with some promising horses on the way up doing battle. Jumbo Ozaki has made a real impression winning his first two starts at Pakenham and Bendigo and I thought he was most likeable in how he went about it last start. I think he is a real good horse and we are getting a good price about him so happy to be with him. Keeping Write Your Name on side who ran well first up in a handy race. He will be improved by that and I thought Orcein come up well over the odds. He is a handy horse and around the $20 mark I thought he was certainly worth a ticket.

This is another deep race with a lot of fillies resuming. Assertive Play didn’t have the best of luck in the spring. She has trialled well in readiness for this first up run and I wouldn’t be surprised if she ran a strong race here first up. Happy to be with her. Causeway Girl showed plenty last campaign. She was very fast on the clock on debut and continued to race well through the campaign. If she has improved in the break she will be hard to beat. Graceful Storm has been a bit of a trial/jump out star in her career but never transferred it to race day. I don’t want to not be on the day she salutes on race day. She is big odds and worth a small ticket here.

Good race this. Plenty of winning chances. Zebulon is flying for mine. His two runs back from a spell have been excellent and he looks to have the hoof right on the till here at his third run back. I am backing him. Manolo Blahniq is another who was racing exceptionally well through the summer months and comes here off a freshen up. He was most unlucky last start and from the wide draw here certainly won’t encounter any traffic issues. He will go back and hit the line strongly. Plein Ciel has been well supported for a big first up run.  He is certainly capable of winning here and I will keep him on side also.

I have to admit after initially being a bit of a doubter of this race, I am now really looking forward to it. It is unique and best of all it has drawn together a cracking field. Happy Clapper simply has to produce what he has done in Sydney at his first two runs down here in Melbourne and for mine will go very close to winning. He draws ideally for Blake Shinn and I am happy to be with him around that $5 mark. Alizee has done everything right this campaign. She did it the tough way at Caulfield and still won last start so I am happy to be with her.  Mystic Journey is obviously a star and will be hard to beat but just going to stay with the more seasoned runners in what should be a great race.

This is a cracking edition of the Coolmore Classic. It is a very deep race. The likely heavy conditions certainly help the chances of the two horses most favoured in the market in I Am Serious and Jamaican Rain. I Am Serious just failed first up but up in trip here and with more fitness on her side on her preferred soft going there is a lot to like about her so happy to be with her. Jamaican Rain won well first up at Caulfield. This is obviously stronger but she is a real swimmer and Bossy is a great big race rider so happy to be with her. If you overlook Noire’s last run which was horrible and out of character she looks massively over the odds here so I think she can certainly run well and happy to have something small on her.

Happy Clapper simply has to produce what he has done in Sydney at his first two runs down here in Melbourne and for mine will go very close to winning. He draws ideally for Blake Shinn and I am happy to be with him around that $5 mark. Alizee has done everything right this campaign. Dangers

Dixie Blossoms (No.2), Alassio (No.6) & El Dorado Dreaming (No.15)

Betting strategy

I will have $40 the win on I Am Serious, $25 the win on Jamaican Rain and $10 the win on Noire!

Suggested

Land Of Plenty (No.1) & Seaway (No.11)

Dangers

Dreamforce (No.2) & Fifty Stars (No.3)

This is another excellent race. I doubt Land Of Plenty would have seen a race this winnable for some time and from a nice middle draw he looks really hard to beat. Seaway has certainly come back in good order and down in the weights will run well. I think it looks a really good two bet play and Land Of Plenty in particular at $4 looks a great price.

Betting strategy

I will have $55 the win on Land Of Plenty and $25 the win on Seaway here!
